Exploring Spring ORM, From JDO to JSR220

"esp@cenet, a spring-enabled search for patents"

Offering a web-based solution for searching 60 million patents from over 72 different countries stored in multiple datasources is a very complex task.

With peaks of 1 million requests per hour and delivering over 100GB of data per day to its users it is crucial to architect such a system in a powerful but lightweight manner.

This presentation will unveil the strategies used within the esp@cenet® application in conjunction with Spring, Spring web flow and acegi security, demonstrating that Spring is a very good choice when flexibility, performance, scalability and reliability are core requirements.
